Perhaps you’ve already heard of the Furious Flower Poetry Prize for Emerging Writers. Taking their name from Gwendolyn Brooks’ “The Second Sermon on the Warpland” (1968), the Furious Flower Poetry Center was the nation’s first academic center for Black poetry. This year, the contest will be judged by Marilyn Nelson, author/translator of over twenty-four books.

If you’re interested, you should check out this link to the  guidelines and the submission portal. Make sure to submit by February 11th!
