Silka, born Jasmine Nicole Mitchell (Melodiousfly), is a songwriter, musician, guitarist, actress, live performer, and record producer. Her music is an eclectic blend of soul, rhythm and blues, pop, J-pop, fusion jazz, hip-hop, electronic, and rock.

Silka has collaborated as a composer, lyricist, or vocalist with notable artists such as 2013 Grammy awardwinner Shafiq Husayn (The Sa-Ra Creative Partners). In 2019, Silka was invited to join famed pianist Chick Corea on tour for four nights.
On the International scene, Silka toured Cuba by personal invitation of British composer Sue Herrod. Appearing in Herrod’s production of the “Quiet Nights” Concert in 2010. J. Mitchell’s acoustic guitar solo track “Caught Up” was featured in the film Middle of Nowhere, written, produced, and directed by Ava DuVernay.
Silka has been lauded for her “powerhouse” smooth, sensual vocals and sound and her charismatic on-stage presence and dynamic performances. She continues to receive critical acclaim in the US, Asia, and Europe as well as worldwide radio exposure.
